TARLAC CITY — Riding-in-tandem armed men shot dead a businessman in Bgy. Maliwalo, this city.
In a report to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Jess Mendez, the Tarlac City police identified the victim as Enrique Macapagal, a resident of Villa Agila, Bgy. Maliwalo.
Macapagal was driving his Ford Ranger Wildtrak on Tarlac-Sta. Rosa Road in Zone 5 when two armed men riding a red motorcycle approached his vehicle then opened fire before fleeing northbound.
The shooting occurred in front of a construction supply store, alarming residents and passersby in the area.
Responders from the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) rushed the victim to the Tarlac Provincial Hospital, where Macapagal was declared dead on arrival.
A dragnet operation under “Oplan Kandado” was launched to intercept and arrest the suspects.
