FORMER Ilocos Sur governor Chavit Singson on Thursday was arrested over cyber libel charges.
Operatives of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Police Station 12 served the arrest warrant against Singson in his residence in Bgy. Ugong Norte, Quezon City around 1:18 p.m. on Thursday.
The warrant of arrest was issued by Branch 21, Regional Trial Court (RTC), Vigan City for violation of the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
The 84-year-old businessman posted a cash bond amounting to P60,000 and was released from the custody of the police.
