A 13-YEAR-OLD boy on Friday was stabbed dead by his 14-year-old classmate inside their school in Las Piñas City.
Both the victim and the suspect are Grade 9 students of Las Piñas National High School located on Sultana Street in Tabon 1, Bgt. Daniel Fajardo.
Las Piñas acting police chief Fermin Armendarez III said the stabbing occurred outside the classroom at the fourth floor of the school while students were having their recess at 4:20 p.m. on Friday.
Prior to the stabbing, police said the victim and the suspect quarreled allegedly over a 10 pesos change in buying a bottle of mineral water.
“‘Yung stabbing involving two minors, nangyari sa loob ng Las Pinas National High School, doon sa fourth floor just outside the classroom. Around that time mga 4:20 ng hapon. May recess, nagdeclare ng recess, nautusan ‘yung biktima na bumili ng tubig, with the 20 pesos doon sa school canteen,” Armendarez said..
“After bumili, bumalik, then binigay ‘yung tubig. Then the CICL(Child in Conflict with the Law) was demanding 10 pesos change. The victim was not able to give the change kasi naiwan niya sa canteen. Eh ayaw maniwala ng CICL, nagkaroon ng argument, suddenly bumunot ng fan knife ‘yung suspect at sinaksak ‘yung victim sa upper portion ng left chest,” the official added.
The victim was rushed to the Las Piñas District Hospital, where he was declared dead at 4:53 p.m.
Meanwhile, the young suspect was referred to the Las Piñas City Social Welfare and Development Office to undergo an evaluation to determine his liability.
