HVI, 2 OTHERS FALL IN MABALACAT P2.3-M DRUG STING

CAMP OLIVAS,   City of San Fernando, Pampanga — An anti-illegal drug operation in Mabalacat City on Wednesday led to the arrest of a high-value individual and two other suspects and   the seizure of at least P2.3 million worth of illegal drugs inn another blow to the illegal drug trade in the city.

In a report to Police Regionnal Office  3   (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Jess Mendez, the operation took place at The Sharp Clarkhills on Macapagal Village after the subject reportedly changed the agreed meeting place at the last minute from Friendship Gate in Bgy. Anunas, Angeles City.

Operatives quickly adjusted to the change and proceeded to the new location, where the transaction was carried out. 

Three suspects were arrested during the operation, including the identified “high-value individual.”

A fourth suspect, a Korean national, evaded arrest and is now the subject of continuing follow-up operations.

Seized were suspected ecstasy tablets, ketamine, marijuana vape cartridges, KPODS containing suspected liquid ketamine, and a bottle of suspected “Happy Water.” 

The seized illegal drugs were valued at approximately P2.29 million.

The operation was led by PS4, ACPO, with support from CIU-ACPO, CDEU-ACPO, RID-RSOG, RDEU 3, Mabalacat CPS, Pampanga PPO, and RIU 3.

Mendez said the accomplishment goes beyond the value of the drugs seized, as each successful operation helps keep illegal substances from reaching more individuals and communities.

“Every illegal drug we prevent from reaching our streets means one less threat to our families and communities. We will continue to strengthen our intelligence work and coordination so that those who engage in the illegal drug trade will be held accountable,” Mendez said.

He added that the operation supports the PNP Focused Agenda of PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., particularly the sustained campaign against illegal drugs and other forms of criminality through intelligence-driven and coordinated police operations.

The arrested suspects were brought to PS4, ACPO for documentation and proper disposition while appropriate charges under Republic Act No. 9165 are being prepared.

Meanwhile, follow-up operations are ongoing to locate the remaining suspect and identify other personalities who may be linked to the illegal drug activity.
