MANIBELA TO HOLD 3-DAY TRANSPORT STRIKE

TRANSPORT group MANIBELA will hold a transport strike on Sept. 28, 29 and 30, 2026.

MANIBELA said the 3-day transport strike is to protest the continuous increases in fuel prices.

The group said drivers and operators can no longer afford the surge in prices of petroleum products.

According to them, with every increase in diesel prices, the income they brought home to their families becomes smaller.

As fuel prices continue to rise, they said fuel subsidies and other assistance from the government are not enough.

To shield the transport sector from fuel price increases, the group is calling for lower fuel prices and the removal of excise and value-added taxes on petroleum products.

Meanwhile, PISTON earlier announced that it will also launch a transport strike on September 29 and 30, 2026.
