MORE THAN 1,200 JOBS OFFERED IN PH-CZECH REPUBLIC JOB FAIR

IN line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to ensure better opportunities and protection of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), the Philippines and Czech Republic on Wednesday hold an exclusive job fair for Filipino job seekers at Robinson’s Galleria in Quezon City.

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and the Embassy of Czech Republic jointly organized an exclusive job fair that brought together seven Philippine private recruitment agencies (PRAs) and 14 Czech employers offering 1,286 approved job orders.

Most of the job orders are in the growing sector in transportation, construction, manufacturing, logistics, food processing, and hospitality.

“This job fair is more than just a hiring event – it is a gateway to opportunity built on ethical recruitment and mutual respect,” said Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac.

“Ito ang maganda rito sa job fair na ito, I would say it is quadrilateral – four important agencies, entities, and stakeholders are here today. The entire machinery and framework that supports facilitation are here,” the Secretary added, emphasizing the presence of the PH and Czech Republic governments, the PRAs and its Czech counterparts reflecting shared commitment to promote safe, legal, and ethical overseas employment.

“Czech Republic Ambassador to the Philippines H.E. Karel Hejč expressed the significance of today’s event. This moment really means a lot to us. This shows how the commitment that started many years ago continues, talking about the long history of friendship and partnership of the two nations since the visit of Dr. Jose Rizal to the Czech Republic and the support given by the Czechoslovaks during the Battle of Bataan.

You, our future OFWs, will write the next chapter and I hope for ourselves, that the chapter we are about to write will be bright, prosperous, and beneficial to both parties,” he added.

The job fair coincides with the celebration of the Philippines-Czech Republic Friendship Week, a celebration of diplomatic and cultural ties between the two countries highlighting shared values in the areas of decent work, legal migration, and ethical recruitment.
