PALAYAN CITY, Nueva Ecija — “Termite Gang” members tunneled their way into a bank and took off an estimated P1 million in cash in this city.
The robbery was discovered Monday morning.
In a report to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Jess Mendez, the Nueva Ecija police said robbed was the branch of GM Bank located in Bgy. Caballero.
Security guard Alvin Sindanum, 36, a resident of Bgy. Sagana, Laur, Nueva Ecija discovered the burglary.
Initial investigation revealed that the suspects gained entry by digging an underground passage leading into the bank premises.
Once inside, the suspects forcibly opened the bank’s vault and carted away cash estimated to be worth P1,000,000.
Authorities launched a follow-up investigation, including a review of closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage, to determine the identities of the perpetrators and to send them to jail.
