MEMBERS of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) arrested a man for illegal firearms’ sale in Pampanga.
CIDG Regional Field Unit 3 chief Col. Grant Gollod said arrested was alias “Evan,” 40, a resident of Mexico, Pampanga.
The suspect was nabbed while selling an unlicensed firearm to an undercover officer.
Gollod said the buy-bust operation under “Oplan Paglalansag Omega” was carried out in Bgy. Cabalantian, Bacolor, Pampanga as part of the police’s Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO).
Seized from the suspect were a cal. .380 pistol, a magazine assembly, eight rounds of live ammunition, the marked and boodle money, and a mobile phone.
The suspect was taken to the CIDG Pampanga Provincial Field Unit for documentation and proper disposition.
Cases for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act are being prepared for filing against the suspect before the Pampanga Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.
