THE website of the House of Representatives yesterday was hacked by a group called 3MUSKETEERZ.
“You’ve been hacked,” said the message that appeared on the left side of the House’s landing page, www.congress.gov.ph, before noon.
A picture of a troll face comic meme was displayed in the photo journal section of the website.
“Happy April Fullz kahit October pa lang!” the text also reads.
The press releases and committee schedules on the website were also altered.
House Secretary General Reginald Velasco confirmed that the website experienced “unauthorized access.”
He said they are already working with other agencies to investigate the incident.
“Immediate steps have been taken to address the issue, and we are working closely with the Department of Information and Communications Technology, Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center and law enforcement agencies concerned to investigate the matter,” Velasco said in a statement.
“While we work to restore the website fully, we ask for patience and understanding. For the moment, we advise the public to be cautious of any suspicious emails or communications that claim to be from the House of Representatives,” he added.
