THE Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday reported that they have recorded 1,146 new cases of COVID-19 from October 16 to 22.
Based on the National COVID-19 Case Bulletin of the DOH, the average number of new cases per day this week is at 164 or 8% less compared to the cases recorded from October 9 to 15.
According to the DOH, of the new cases, 22 have serious and critical illnesses.
Meanwhile, nine patients were recorded who passed away from October 9 to 22.
According to the health department, as of October 22, 2023, there are also 221 serious and critical patients admitted to hospitals due to COVID-19.
Of the 1,465 ICU beds for patients with COVID-19, 173 or 11.8% are occupied.
About 2,118 or 16.9% of the 12,536 non-ICU COVID-19 beds are currently in use.
In this regard, the DOH continues to remind everyone not to be complacent about the threat of COVID-19.
According to the DOH, the public should continue to follow the minimum public health standards under Alert Level 1.
The DOH reminded the public to always wear the best-fitted face mask and if possible stay in well-ventilated areas.
