A TOTAL of 20 public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers and 100 traffic enforcers in Bacoor City, Cavite underwent surprise drug testing, Regional Highway Patrol Unit 4A (RHPU 4A) chief Col. Rommel Estolano said Friday, October 27.
The surprise drug test was initiated by the RHPU4 head, Highway Patrol Team-Cavite provincial chief Maj. Gegeon Merza and his deputy, Capt. Aldine Moreno, in coordination with Bacoor City Mayor Strike Revilla, and the City Heath Office.
Estolano said the move was to ensure a drug-free workplace and to secure the safety of the riding public, the motorists, and other road users from drivers using illegal drugs.
The activity was also conducted in line with Republic Act 10586 or the Anti-Drunk and Drugged Driving Act of 2013 and the Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan (BIDA) program of the Department of the Interior and Local Government.
