A CHRISTMAS convoy boat carrying gifts and supplies slipped pass Chinese vessels and reached Lawak Island in the West Philippine Sea Monday.
“December 11, 5:00 am. Nakalusot! They are now in the process of dropping off donations and supplies with the help of frontliners stationed in the area,” ATIN ITO Coalition, in a statement, said.
This as the main ship of the “Atin Ito” Christmas covoy, the MV Kapitan Oca, had to turn back after it was shadowed by Chinese vessels starting at 3:40 p.m., south of Kayumanggi Bank.
MV Chowee, a smaller supply vessel, is one of the boats that were part of a Christmas convoy to the West Philippine Sea.
MV Chowee did not have volunteers or media aboard.
According to the ATIN ITO Coalition, the convoy had started its journey to areas in the West Philippine Sea on Friday, with some 40 volunteers joining the first leg of the expedition from Manila to Palawan.
