A BUSINESSWOMAN on Sunday was robbed and shot dead by two men who barged in her house in Tarlac.
A report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr. by the Tarlac police identified the fatality as Melanie Belonio, a resident of Bgy. Daldalayap, San Clemente, Tarlac.
An investigation showed the victim, together with Roselda Belonio, 25, and Elena Gabriel, were having dinner when two armed men suddenly entered the house.
The suspects ordered the three women to go inside a room while the suspects ransacked all their valuables, including cash and cellphones.
When the victim went out of the room, the two men chased then shot her before fleeing on foot with the loot.
Belonio was rushed to the Sto. Nino Hospital in Camiling, Tarlac but was declared dead upon arrival.
The San Clemente police immediately launched “Oplan Kandado” and requested the assistance of the Tarlac police to investigate the incident.
