AN explosion that hit a fireworks factory in Cabuyao, Laguna on Thursday left four people dead and five others wounded.
The blast occurred around 3:30 p.m. at the Diamond Fireworks Inc. in Bgy. Bigaa, Cabuyao City.
The explosion caused a fire that reached the first alarm
Members of the Cabuyao Component City Police Station, Cabuyao City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Cabuyao immediately responded and was able to put out the blaze before 6 p.m. on the same day.
Recovered at the site were two unidentified bodies.
The injured victims were rushed to various hospitals.
Police said the fatalities from the blast rose to four, after two victims, who were seriously injured, later died.
Cabuyao CDRRMO chief Bobby Abinal Jr. said a child, who was among those hurt in the fire, is now in stable condition.
He said an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the explosion and the amount damaged by the blaze.
