CAMP VICENTE LIM, Canlubang, Calamba, Laguna – A 38-year-old man and his wife on Saturday were found dead in their house in Tanauan City, Batangas.
Police identified the victims as Allen John Umali and his wife Khegzy, 36, of Bgy. Darasa, Tanauan City.
The Umalis were operating shuttle services for workers of an industrial company.
The couple were found lifeless in their bedroom by Rhaziel Badillo, sister of Khegzy, at 7:20 a.m. on Saturday.
According to Badillo, she went to the couple’s house after her sister failed to reply to her messages since Friday.
Tanauan City police chief Lt. Col. Apolinario Lunar said the victims bore gunshot wounds in the neck. The couple’s hands were tied with duct tape.
Based on initial investigation, there was no sign of forced entry or struggle. The victims’ belongings such as cellphones, cash money, jewelry and other important things are intact.
Police said the woman was in bed lying beside her husband. She was covered with a blanket.
Authorities are waiting for the results of the paraffin tests conducted on Allen.
The official said that five 9mm bullets were found by the forensic in a cabinet in the couple’s house.
