ICON OF PHILANTHROPY IN QUEZON RECOGNIZED

QUEZON businessman and philanthropist Leodegario Boongaling (center) receives a plaque of recognition from the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Quezon led by its presiding officer, Vice  Governor Anacleto Alcala III (5th from left),  during last Monday’s regular session. Alcala branded Boongaling as “Icon of Philanthropy in Quezon.” Boongaling, widely known as “Ka Luding or ‘Tatay Luding,” is a 71-year-old self-made businessman from Bgy. Pahinga Sur, Candelaria who made  various investments in the province, including the Aquawood Resort and Hotel, the Biyayang Bukid Ricemill, and LDB Storehouse. He is also franchise operator of Small Town Lottery in several provinces of the country. The Sangguniang Panlalawigan passed a resolution endorsing “Ka Luding’s” nomination as “Natatanging Anak ng Quezon,” an award given to outstanding Quezonians.
