POLICE have solved the case of an 8-year-old girl whose body was found in a sack after her killer confessed to have raped and strangled her to death inside his house in Taytay, Rizal last September 11.
Suspect Jhonmr Tapsil, a 41-year-old construction worker made an extra-judicial confession, wherein he narrated how he sexually abused and killed the Grade 3 student , before placing her body in a blue sack and dumping it in front of a neighbor’s house.
In a report to Police Regional Office 4-A director Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas, Rizal Police Provincial Office director Col. Felipe B. Maraggun said they also discovered that the suspect has a pending warrant of arrest for qualified rape issued by Judge Jennifer A. Santos De Lumen of the Cainta, Rizal Regional Trial Court Branch 18.
The same warrant of arrest was served right after the suspect was arrested.
Last September 16, a case for rape with homicide was filed against the accused before Assistant Provincial Prosecutor Severino V. Alforte of the Rizal Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.
Records showed that at around 7 a.m. . last September 12, the body of the victim was discovered in front of Blk. 30, Mabunga St., Purok 5, Lupang Arenda in Taytay.
The house owner reported her gruesome find to local barangay officials, who in turn sought the help of the Taytay police.
According to the witness, she saw the sack in front of their house which is being used by some of their neighbors as a garbage dumping ground. She said she dragged the sack towards the other side of the street.
However, around 11 p.m. of the same day, the witness said she saw the sack still in the same area and asked her husband to throw it away.
The couple later found the body of the victim inside the sack when they tried to look what’s inside. They immediately called the police.
