AGENTS of the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) arrested 38 Chinese nationals working in an illegal POGO hub-cum-suspected scam farm in Cebu City.
PNP-CIDG director Brig. Gen. Nicolas D. Torre III said the 38 were arrested on Tuesday inside a POGO hub in Bgy. Saavedra in Moalboal, Cebu.
Torre said all accused foreigners are facing criminal charges for violation of Republic Act 10175 otherwise known as the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
Seized during the operation were 30 computers, 212 assorted cellphones, four laptops, routers, modems, chargers, cords, cable wires, landline phones, and keyboards.
Six vehicles were also confiscated during the raid and are currently subject to verification.
The vehicles were composed of a Toyota Hi-Ace van, , a black Ford Everest wagon, a white Ford Titanium SUV, a black Ford Territory (Titanium X), a blue Suzuki Jimny, and a black Toyota Innova E. wagon.
The arrested Chinese nationals were held at the Moalboal Municipal Police Station.
The seized pieces of evidence were brought to the Moalboal Municipal Police Station for temporary safekeeping prior to their presentation to the court.
