A MOTORCYCLE-RIDING man on Saturday was killed while another was injured in a shooting incident on the highway in Bulacan.
In a report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan, the Bulacan police identified the fatality as Peter John Daet, 35, of Bgy. Catacte, Bustos, Bulacan; while the injured was Jaira Daet, 25, also of Bgy. Catacte, Bustos.
The victims were traveling on a motorcycle on way to Bustos, Bulacan when upon reaching Bgy. Cacarong Matanda in Pandi, two unidentified suspects wearing jacket and helmet also on another motorbike suddenly appeared beside them.
One of the suspects fired shots at them, hitting Peter in the neck and Jaira on the shoulder.
The suspects fled while the victims were rushed concerned citizens to Rogaciano Mercado Memorial Hospital in Sta. Maria, Bulacan, where Peter was declared dead upon arrival.
The Pandi police are conducting a dragnet operation and reviewing the CCTV footage in the area for possible identification and arrest of the suspects.
