A PASIG court has denied the petition for bail filed by dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo for her qualified human trafficking case.
Prosecutor General Richard Fadullon on Friday said the evidence of the prosecution was found to be strong.
Guo’s lawyer Nicole Jamilla earlier said the former Bamban mayor was anxious about spending the holiday season at the Pasig City Jail Female Dormitory.
The denial of Guo’s bail plea means that she will continue to be detained at the Pasig City Jail.
Guo is charged before the Pasig Regional Trial Court Branch 167 with qualified human trafficking.
The dismissed Tarlac town mayor is facing multiple charges from different courts due to her alleged involvement in the illegal operations of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO).
Guo denied that she was a mastermind in POGO operations.
