A 73-YEAR-OLD man who was reported missing was found dead in a trash hole in a remote area at Sitio Mamala, Bgy. Saint Francis I, Limay, Bataan.
Bataan police director Col. Marites Salvadora, in a report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo, identified the victim as Ricardo Balmaceda, of Bgy. Lati, Orion, Bataan.
The victim sustained hack wounds and his body was burnt.
A relative of Balmaceda informed the Orion police that he was missing.
Village residents helped in searching for the victim until they found pieces of clothing belonging to the old man near a rubbish hole in Bgy. Saint Francis.
The Orion police led by OIC Maj. Madtaib Jalman questioned an alias “Mario,” whose house is located near the pothole dump.
Alias “Mario” later admitted he had a heated argument with the victim then hacked, burned and dumped his body in the pothole dump.
An ocular inspection of the garbage hole revealed several suspected human remains, prompting the police to bring alias “Mario” and the other persons inside the house to the police station for questioning.
Appropriate charges are being readied for filing against the suspect.
