A FORMER mayor of Langangilang town in Abra province was killed in a gun attack Tuesday morning.
The Abra Provincial Office identified the victim as Jenricks Seares Luna, 54.
Luna was sitting at a kiosk in front of his house in Bgy. Dangdangla, Bangued, Abra past 8 a.m. Tuesday when shot several times by four armed men in two motorcycles.
The gunmen fled after the killing.
The victim was rushed to Seares Memorial Hospital by his relatives but was declared dead on arrival by an attending physician.
Authorities are hunting down the suspects.
Meanwhile, at around noontime of the same day, police recovered two abandoned motorcycles in Bgy. Cosili but it was not yet determined whether these were the ones used by the suspects.
Luna served as Langangilang mayor from 2016 to 2019. He ran for a District Board member post but lost during the recent national and local elections.
