TWO “high-value” targets, including a Chinese national, on Saturday were arrested while 103 kilograms of shabu worth at least PP700.4 million were seized by operatives led by Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG) in an operation in Bulacan.
PNP-DEG director Brig. Gen. Edwin A. Quilates reported to PNP chief General Nicolas D. Torre III that arrested were Liant Teng Chen, a 55-year-old resident of Gavino Maderan, General Mariano Alvarez, Cavite; and Ryan Alvarez,40, an online seller from Bgy. Palatiw in Pasig City.
The duo were arrested after they conspired to sell the illegal drugs to an undercover officer at Blk. 13, Lot 3, Bantique St., Bgy. Bulihan, Plaridel municipality at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
The successful anti-narcotics operation was conducted with the help of operatives from the Quezon City Police District Drug Enforcement Unit under Col. Randy Glenn G. Silvio.
Recovered from the suspects were some 103 kilograms of shabu worth P700,400,000, the buy-bust money topped by a marked P1,000 bill, and a mobile phone they used in making contact with the poseur.
The recovered pieces of drug evidence were turned over to the PNP Forensic Group for laboratory examination.
The arrested suspects are being held in a PNP-DEG lock-up facility facing non-bailable criminal charges for sale and possession of prohibited drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
