KOREAN NABBED WHILE TRYING TO FLEE AFTER CAUSING 3-VEHICLE CRASH IN ANGELES CITY

POLICE on Sunday arrested a Korean national after trying to escape from a three-vehicle crash that injured three persons in Angeles City, Pampanga.

In a report to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr., the Angeles City police identified the suspect as Korean national Kwanyong Song, 42, of Crown Asia, Sta. Rosa, Laguna, and holder of a Philippine driver’s license valid until August 13, 2029.

An investigation showed that the SUV was being driven by the Korean national on Malabanias Road in Bgy. Malabanias in Angeles City when it suddenly changed lan, causing it to hit a black Kawasaki motorcycle being driven by Jeorge Almetia, 56, of Bgy. Cuayan, Angeles City; and another motorcycle driven by Joseph Dizon, 41, with backrider Maria Austria, 33, both of Yap Park, Dau, Mabalacat, Pampanga.

The impact caused the drivers of the two motorcycles and the backrider to sustain body injuries. They were rushed to the Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center by responding Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ACDRRMO) Rescue Team for treatment.

The Korean attempted to escape and sped off but was intercepted by some concerned citizens, who turned him over to the Angeles City police.
