CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – Joint police units on Sunday arrested a suspect accused of tying his victim before robbing a house in Bgy. Singalat, Palayan City, Nueva Ecija.
In a report to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr., arrested was alias “Lex,” 47, a resident of Bgy. Mambangnan, San Leonardo, Nueva Ecija.
The suspect was caught after robbing a house owned by Rolando Amis, 68, an overseas Filipino worker.
Amis’ wife told police that the suspect tied her before fleeing with the loot.
The suspect was nabbed following a pursuit operation conducted by members of the San Leonardo police, in coordination with the Palayan City police, the Provincial Intelligence Unit of the Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office (PIU-NEPPO), and the Regional Special Operations Group 3 (RSOG-3).
Recovered during the operation were several high-value items allegedly stolen by the suspect from the house, including the US$1,900 (approximately P106,400), P86,073.75 cash, two wedding rings valued at P40,000 each, a Rolex wristwatch worth P400,000, and a maroon Nike belt bag.
The arrested suspect was charged with robbery.
