CLARK FREEPORT, Pampanga — Government authorities foiled another smuggling attempt following the confiscation of some P708,000 worth of high-grade marijuana or kush in an interdiction operation at the Port of Clark.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Clark said the parcel came from Michigan, USA and declared as “Sasstie Reading Pillows for Sitting in Bed Adult.”
“The package containing illegal drugs arrived at the Port of Clark last June 30 and was detected during a routine customs examination and x-ray scan. The drugs were not concealed, which resulted in their discovery by the Bureau of Customs (BOC) examiners,” the PDEA Clark said.
Around 472 grams of kush valued at P708,000 were seized during the operation and were submitted to the PDEA Regional Office 3 laboratory for examination.
The successful interdiction operation was a collaborative effort involving the PDEA Clark International Airport Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (CRK IADITG), the Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Clark, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Pampanga District Office, and the Philippine National Police (PNP) Aviation Security Unit.
