TWO people, including a 3-year-old girl, was killed while another child was seriously injured in a fire that hit a residential area in Malabon.
Police said the victims were trapped inside the burning house.
An investigation showed the fire started in a house in Bgy. Tinajeros, Malabon at 11:54 p.m. on Monday.
The fire reached first alarm at 12:05 a.m. on Tuesday and was declared out at 12:38 a.m. of the same day.
The injured victim, a 6-year-old girl, was able to scream for help. She was rescued through the terrace of the house.
However, the 3-year-old girl and her babysitter were found lifeless on the mattress on the floor.
The child was found lying down and the nanny was on top of her, an indication she tried to protect the toddler from the raging blaze.
An investigation is ongoing on what started the fire.
