JOINT operatives of the Police Regional Office 5 (Bicol ) and the Police Regional Office 4A (Calabarzon) are conducting an investigation into the killing of a woman whose body was found stuffed in a plastic storage box and dumped into a river in Basud, Camarines Norte.
According to the Basud Municipal Police Station, the victim had tattoos: a flower on the left upper breast and a butterfly on the right shoulder.
Initial investigation showed no visible signs of struggle or external physical injuries.
The storage box was found floating at Pinagwarasan Bridge in Basud on January 2, 2026.
Witnesses immediately called the police.
Responding lawmen checked the box and found a dead woman inside.
Meanwhile, the Camarines Norte Police Provincial Office received a phone call from a friend of the victim who recognized her after seeing the news on social media.
The caller positively identified the victim as Anelis Agocoy, 38, a resident of Bgy. Bura, Catarman, Camiguin.
Police are eyeing crime of passion as motive for the killing.
Authorities are hunting down the suspect.
