A COURT in Laguna has issued an arrest warrant against businessman Charlie “Atong” Ang over his alleged involvement in the disappearance of dozens of cockfighting enthusiasts.
Ang faces kidnapping with homicide and kidnapping cases before three Regional Trial Courts — in Lipa City, Batangas and in San Pablo City and Sta. Cruz town, both in Laguna.
The Laguna RTC Branch 26 in Sta. Cruz issued the arrest warrant against Ang for kidnapping with homicide, a non bailable offense.
Based on the arrest warrant issued by presiding Judge Mary Jean Cajandab-Ong dated Jan. 13, 2026, concerned law officers were directed to use at least one body-worn camera and one alternative recording device pursuant to the Rules on the Use of Body-Worn Cameras in the Execution of Warrants issued by the Supreme Court.
Aside from Ang, 17 other suspects were also ordered arrested.
The case against Ang stemmed in 2022 over the mysterious disappearances of several “sabungeros.”
The disappearances was revealed to the public last year with the appearance of whistleblower Julie “Dondon” Patidongan also known as “Totoy,” a former employee of Ang, who claimed that the bodies of the “sabungeros” were dumped in Taal Lake.
Patidongan tagged Ang as the mastermind behind the disappearances.
Ang denied the accusations.
Meanwhile, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) urged Ang to surrender peacefully as authorities are now actively pursuing him.
