A BARANGAY captain and a farmer on Tuesday were injured in a gun attack in Bgy. Kabulihan, General Mamerto Natividad, Nueva Ecija.
In a report to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Jess Mendez, the Nueva Ecija police identified the victims as Arthur Bautista, 40, the barangay captain of the area; and Conrado Villena, 56, a farmer, both residents of Bgy. Kabulihan.
Bautista and Villena sustained gunshot wounds and were brought to the nearest hospital for medical treatment.
The General Mamerto Natividad police immediately responded after receiving information about the shooting incident.
Police also conducted an “Oplan Bakod” or dragnet operation to track down the fleeing suspects, who reportedly headed toward the direction of Cabanatuan City.
Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage in the area to identify the suspects and determine the motive for the attack.
