TWO pilots, including a former councilor in Muntinlupa, on Maundy Thursday were killed in a plane crash in Palawan.
The victims were identified as ex-Muntinlupa councilor Allan Camilon and a certain Jiao.
According to the Aviation Security Unit, the aircraft had just taken off en route to Sangley Point Airport in Cavite when it suddenly went down and exploded in Bgy. Decalacho, Coron, Palawan.
Camilon’s death was confirmed by his wife, Muntinlupa City councilor Amanda Camilon.
“It is with a heavy heart that we are announcing the passing of Allan Camilon. He was a loving husband, father, brother, son, friend, and colleague to many,” the female councilor said.
The male Camilon was a licensed private pilot.
Muntinlupa City Mayor Ruffy Biazon has expressed his condolonces to Camilon family.
“Lubos akong nakikiramay kay Konsi Amanda Camilon, sa kanilang pamilya, at sa mga mahal sa buhay sa pagpanaw ni dating Konsehal Allan Camilon. Isa sa mga matuturing nating lingkod bayang nag-alay nang mahabang panahon para sa kapakanan ng Muntinlupa,” Biazon said.
An investigation is ongoing on what caused the plane crash.
