THREE overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) were injured in a drone strike at the Kuwait International Airport on June 3, 2026.
According to the Kuwaiti state media, the attack killed an Indian national and wounded 63 individuals.
Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac said two of the OFWs underwent treatment for smoke inhalation while the other required several stitches in the hand and head.
Cacdac said the injured Filipinos have been visited by their Migrant Workers Office and personnel from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).
The DMW advised all OFWs in Kuwait to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel.
The drone attack caused severe damage to several airport facilities and forcing the suspension of airport operations.
The Kuwaiti government blamed Iran for the attack. The incident followed U.S. military strikes on Qeshm Island.
In response to the U.S. attack, Iran launched attacks on Kuwait and Bahrain.
Iran has denied responsibility for the attack.
Iranian officials instead claimed that US interceptor missiles missed their intended targets and caused the explosion.
