GENERAL TINIO, Nueva Ecija — Police are investigating the discovery of a dead man inside an abandoned sport utility vehicle (SUV) in Bgy. Pias, this town.
A report to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Jess Mendez by the Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office (NEPPO), General Tinio Municipal Police Station showed that a barangay official reported to the police about an abandoned black Ford Everest Titanium bearing plate number NIK-5986 in the village.
According to the barangay official, the vehicle had been left in the area since around 10 a.m. on June 16.
Upon inspecting the SUV from outside, the village official noticed a human-shaped figure wrapped in a blanket lying on the front passenger seat.
All doors of the vehicle were locked, prompting suspicion that the occupant was already dead.
Responding lawmen immediately secured the area and requested assistance from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team to process the scene.
An investigation is ongoing.
