ANGELES CITY, Pampanga – Police arrested three men after a fistfight outside a disco bar in Bgy. Balibago, this city left a 30-year-old rider dead.
Based on a report submitted to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Jess Mendez, the incident happened in front of Shinma Disco Bar on MacArthur Highway.
The case was investigated by personnel of Police Station 4 of the Angeles City Police Office.
Police identified the victim as Ricardo, a 30-year-old rider and resident of Bgy. Pampang, Angeles City.
The suspects were alias “Tol,” 25; alias “Mael,” 23; and alias “Mansi,” 29, all residents of Bgy. Cutud, Angeles City.
They were apprehended by the establishment’s bouncers immediately after the incident and later turned them over to Police Station 4.
Witnesses told probers that the confrontation began after an unidentified woman allegedly approached the tables occupied by both the victim’s and the suspects’ groups.
The woman’s alleged boyfriend then confronted both parties, triggering a heated argument that escalated into a fistfight.
During the altercation, the victim reportedly fell to the pavement and was already unconscious, but the three suspects allegedly continued punching and beating him.
Bouncers from Shinma Disco Bar intervened, stopped the assault, and restrained the three suspects before turning them over to responding police officers.
The victim was rushed to Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center but later died.
According to the medical certificate, the rider died of cardiogenic shock secondary to myocardial infarction.
The victim’s elder brother has expressed his intention to file criminal charges against the suspects.
Homicide charges are being prepared for filing in court against the three suspects.
