PRO3 RECEIVES 48 MOTORCYCLES TO BOOST EMERGENCY RESPONSE IN CENTRAL LUZON

CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – The Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) on Wednesday received 48 brand-new motorcycles to boost its emergency response and improve the mobility of responders across Central Luzon.

PRO3 director Brig. Gen. Jess B. Mendez said the motorcycles were formally blessed and turned over during a ceremony held in this camp.

The turnover ceremony was led by Interior and Local Government Secretary Juanito Victor C. Remulla Jr. and Philippine National Police chief Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr..

Mendez said the motorbikes will be used in support of the Unified 911 Emergency Response System, the government’s nationwide emergency hotline that links callers to police, fire, medical, rescue and other emergency services.

He said the additional mobility would allow responders to reach emergency scenes more quickly, particularly in congested areas and locations that may be difficult to access using larger emergency vehicles.

“In an emergency, every minute matters. These motorcycles give our responders greater mobility and another means to reach our people faster when they need help,” Mendez said.

He said PRO3 would ensure that the motorcycles are properly maintained and deployed in areas where they are most needed.

The turnover is also part of the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s Safer Cities Initiative, which seeks to strengthen police visibility, law enforcement, community-based policing and local government participation in maintaining peace and order.

The deployment also supports the PNP Focused Agenda under Nartatez, which prioritizes improved police operations, efficient use of resources, personnel welfare, integrity and stronger community support.

Mendez urged the public to use the 911 emergency hotline responsibly and immediately report emergencies requiring police, medical, fire, rescue or other assistance.

According to Mendez, prompt reporting gives responders more time to assess incidents and take appropriate action before situations worsen.

“Unified 911 gives our people a direct way to call for help. Our part is to make sure that when that call comes, our responders are ready and able to act quickly,” he said.
