THREE personnel of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) on Thursday were arrested for allegedly stealing license plates at the agency’s plate-making plant in Quezon City.
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan identified the suspects as Jenard Arida, Arjay Anasco and Valeriano Nerizon.
Maranan said the suspects were arrested by joint operatives of the Kamuning Police Station – 10 and the Special Project Group of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
Prior to the arrest, a representative of the LTO sent a complaint letter to the PNP and the office of the DILG regarding the activity of some of its personnel who were stealing license plates at the agency’s plate-making plant.
The QCPD chief said the suspects were also threatening their fellow LTO personnel within the plate-making plant.
An on-duty security guard at the plant saw the suspects allegedly stealing five pieces of license plates and reported what he saw to the LTO authorities, who informed the police, that resulted in the arrest.
The suspects were detained at the Kamuning PS-10 facing charges for qualified theft and robbery.
