POLICE are investigating the shooting of an elderly nun in Bgy. Burabod, Kawayan, Biliran on Sunday night.
The victim was identified as Sister Gemma, of the Our Lady of Peace religious group.
An investigation showed the 75-year-old missionary sister was in her dormitory watching a Holy Mass on TV at 6:50 p.m. on Sunday when a man knocked at her door.
The nun opened the door and without a word, the suspect shot her twice before fleeing.
A 72-year-old fellow missionary sister named Sister Ina witnessed the gun attack.
Sister Gemma was rushed to the Biliran Provincial Hospital, where she is now recuperating.
The motive for the shooting is still unknown.
