A FIRE broke out at the candle station of the Antipolo Cathedral in Antipolo, Rizal on Black Saturday.
The fire started around 7 a.m. in the candle station where devotees traditionally light candles as part of their prayers.
Firefighters quickly responded and contained the fire before it could spread to other parts of the cathedral.
An initial investigation showed that the fire may have been caused by an unattended candle.
As a precaution, cathedral officials temporarily suspended the candle-lighting activities while the area is being cleared and inspected.
No injury was reported.
