DETAINED religious leader Apollo Quiboloy was brought to a public hospital after experiencing difficulty in breathing, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) on Tuesday confirmed.
Superintendent Jayrex Bustinera, spokesperson for the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), in a statement on Tuesday, September 30, said Quiboloy was rushed from the Pasig City Jail to a public hospital on September 11.
The BJMP spox said Quiboloy was diagnosed with community-acquired pneumonia (moderate risk).
As of Tuesday, the BJMP said Quiboloy remains confined but is in stable condition and recovering.
The self-proclaimed son of God is facing a non-bailable qualified human trafficking charge under Section 4(a) of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003, as amended, before the Pasig court.
The religious leader is also facing charges under Section 5(b) and Section 10(a) of the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.
