CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — A total of 870 newly-appointed Patrolmen and Patrolwomen in Central Luzon on Wednesday took their oath of office during a ceremony held at the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) Post Grandstand in Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
The new recruits emerged from a pool of more than 3,000 applicants who underwent a rigorous selection process that included comprehensive screening, medical and psychological examinations, and background validation.
Of those who qualified, 550 filled attrition quota positions while 320 were admitted under the regular quota, significantly enhancing police manpower, improving the police-to-population ratio, and strengthening police presence and operational readiness across Central Luzon.
PRO3 director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio I. Peñones Jr. administered the oath, following the formal presentation of the recruits by Police Colonel Rommel S. Batangan, Deputy Regional Director for Administration.
Peñones reminded the new police officers that law enforcement service is anchored on accountability and public trust.
“Police service is not just employment—it is a commitment, a responsibility, and a calling. By raising your right hand, you pledged to serve with integrity—regardless of difficulty, recognition, or reward,” he said.
The Central Luzon top cop noted that the addition of new personnel directly supports the PNP Focused Agenda of acting chief PNP Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., particularly in advancing personnel development and strengthening police-community partnerships.
The ceremony highlights PRO3’s continued commitment to building a disciplined, professional, and people-centered police force dedicated to public service and the maintenance of peace and order in Central Luzon.
