THE National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Monday night arrested two former engineers of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) implicated in the flood control project anomalies.
The NBI served the arrest warrants against ex-Bulacan first district engineers Brice Hernandez and Jaypee Mendoza around 8p.m. Monday.
The duo were arrested while attending a hearing of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee.
Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III told reporters that he has authorized the serving of the arrest warrant .
Hernandez and Mendoza have been detained at the Senate since last year after being cited for contempt by senators.
The duo were co-accused of former Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. in a graft and malversation of public funds case filed before the Sandiganbayan in connection with the alleged P92.8 million ghost flood control project in Pandi, Bulacan.
Also respondents in the case are former DPWH Bulacan 1st District Engineering Office engineer Arjay Domasig. Former DPWH Bulacan 1st DEO engineer Emelita Juat, former DPWH Bulacan 1st DEO finance section chief Juanito Mendoza and DPWH Bulacan 1st DEO cashier Christina Pineda.
