POLICE are investigating the death of a man and woman who were found inside a sport utility vehicle parked along the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX) in Bgy. San Francisco, Victoria, Tarlac on Wednesday afternoon.
Based on a report to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Jess Mendez, a supervisor of the Petron TPLEX Southbound Station noticed a Ford Escape parked at the rear portion of a Starbucks outlet, with its engine still running.
Suspicious of the unusual situation, the supervisor approached the vehicle and saw two individuals seated inside.
The gas station personnel knocked on the windshield several times to get the attention of the duo inside the vehicle but both failed to respond.
The supervisor immediately reported the matter to the Pura Municipal Police Station.
Upon verification, authorities determined that the area where the vehicle was parked was within the jurisdiction of the Victoria Municipal Police Station.
Pura police then coordinated with their counterparts in Victoria for appropriate action.
Responding officers found the male and female occupants unresponsive. Their identities have yet to be established.
Police immediately cordoned off the area.
Members of the Tarlac Forensic Unit Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) and the Provincial Explosive and Canine Unit (PECU) conducted a crime scene processing and assisted in the investigation.
Authorities have yet to determine the cause of death of the victims and are pursuing further investigation to establish their identities and the circumstances surrounding their death.
